About The Position

At Dutch Bros Coffee, the Shift Lead helps uphold the company’s vision, culture, and core values on every shift. This servant-leader role communicates internal and external feedback to shop leadership and takes on shift tasks so the crew can focus on delivering the company’s core values. The Shift Lead leads the experience for Broistas and customers, helps solve problems, models Broista standards, trains new Broistas, and supports shop leaders with inventory, cleanliness, shift preparation, and quality assurance. The position requires availability for at least 32 hours per week and a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Compensation is $11.50 per hour plus an average tip rate of $7.25 per hour; actual tips may vary. Qualifying candidates may be eligible for relocation compensation if accepting an offer requires them to move.

Requirements

No disciplinary action during the preceding 90 days; disciplinary action is defined as a coaching conversation resulting in completed formal documentation with signatures.
Successfully complete the most recent flowcheck with a score of 90% or better and on time.
Obtain and maintain a Food Handler Permit or Certification as required by state or local regulations.
Complete, pass, and maintain mandatory certificates, training, and knowledge tests under Dutch Bros standards and applicable company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
Be available to work at least 32 hours per week on a flexible, changing schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Demonstrate all Broista Levels of Leadership expectations, including anchors and level-up arrows.
Communicate effectively with leaders and crew, demonstrate effort and skill, show emotional intelligence and understanding of people, remain resilient and optimistic, and maintain a student mindset.

Nice To Haves

Six months of Dutch Bros Broista experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Cultivate the Dutch Bros atmosphere and uphold shop standards, ensuring Broistas meet expectations and helping solve problems during shifts.
Manage shifts, preparing Broistas for specials and promotions and supporting the right energy and attitude for customers.
Model and meet all expectations of the Broista role and demonstrate drink and operational fundamentals.
Train new Broistas operationally and culturally, provide a fun-loving environment, and cover all aspects of the Manifesto during training.
Help the Shop Manager and Shop Lead with inventory management, shop support, and other delegated duties.
Prepare the next shift by counting tills, making bank deposits, restocking products, putting inventory away, and meeting cleanliness standards.
Communicate with managers and share wins and improvement opportunities with shop leaders.
Attend mandatory meetings, know available resources, and follow company policies and procedures in the Shift Lead Field Guide and Employee Handbook.
Assist the Shop Manager and Shop Leads with inventory and shop setup and cleanliness standards.
Support follow-up on Quality Assurance inspections and the accountability process.
Communicate appropriate information to leaders and expectations to the crew while on shift.
Be available for Shift Lead shifts, shop meetings, and culture-building events.
