The Shift Coordinator provides compassionate care to individuals and families under the direction of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN). The Shift Coordinator will review unit assignments, identify anticipated patient care needs, and maintain a workflow plan for the CNA/PCA team prior to the CNA/PCA team shift arrival. This preparation period allows the Shift Coordinator to proactively identify patients requiring higher levels of assistance, establishing bathing priorities, anticipating admissions and discharges, and recognizing assignments that may require additional support throughout the shift. In addition to providing direct patient care, the Coordinator serves as the primary resource for coordinating workflow, facilitating communication, and ensuring patient care responsibilities remain on track throughout the shift.
