About The Position

The position of Sergeant is a first line supervisor for field and investigation operations in the Sheriff’s Department. The duties include the direct supervision of deputies, and/or investigators and agents assuring effective assumption of prescribed or assigned duties and responsibilities as promulgated by job description, NM Motor Vehicle Codes, Criminal statutes, Fair Labor Standards Act and other laws. Investigator Sergeant will provide technical assistance and aid in the investigation of criminal cases, periodically inspect department directives and policies and assure that subordinates do the same, and assume all other duties as assigned. Investigator Sergeant must perform all duties with minimal supervision, may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings and perform other duties as assigned. Investigator Sergeant will be subjected to an �SIU on Call� roster. Employee must perform all duties with minimal supervision. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
