About The Position

Employee will become an integral member of the maintenance crew working under the direction of the Maintenance Shop Foreman. Employee will be responsible for maintaining and promoting professionalism; and for inspection, maintenance and repair of all equipment utilized by the Eddy County Road Department, Vector Control, Sign Department, and Environmental Services Department. Employee may be required to work irregular hours, overtime, attend job-related meetings, in and out of state, and perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum two years' experience in the service and maintenance of light, medium, and heavy-duty equipment, both gasoline and diesel.
Ability to read accurately all gauges on tools and equipment and make correct judgments in the operation of equipment.
Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals, publications, work orders, blueprints, and schematics.

Responsibilities

Inspection, maintenance and repair of all equipment utilized by the Eddy County Road Department, Vector Control, Sign Department, and Environmental Services Department.
Maintaining and promoting professionalism.
Documentation of inspections and repairs performed.
Acquisition of the necessary parts, equipment, and tools to perform assigned tasks.
Maintenance of a safe and clean work area.
Fabrication of various tools, equipment, parts, and materials.
Continuing knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures, and the safe operation of all tools and equipment.
Daily activity reports and equipment records.
Performing all duties in an individual or crew environment, in the shop or field.
Working irregular hours, overtime, attending job-related meetings, in and out of state.
Performing all other duties as assigned.
