About The Position

New Avenues for Youth is seeking a Manager for our Shelter Program. This role is for individuals eager to be a part of the change and care that supports youth in our community, with the drive or experience to be an assurance and lift for young people facing houselessness.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of supervisory background
• Minimum two years of experience working with high-risk youth
• Experience, ability and commitment to working with sexual minority and culturally diverse staff, participants and community.
• Excellent communication, organization, creativity, flexibility, optimism, positive humor and overall interpersonal skills.
• Strong decision making and critical thinking skills – ability to move through day to day operations and crisis with clear guidance.
• Valid driver's license, access to an automobile, and active auto insurance

Responsibilities

• Guide and coach team members in providing critical services to youth.
• Support team members in navigating crisis, implementing programming and providing supportive services.
• Train and onboard staff.
• Provide direct supervision to staff.
• Facilitate team meetings, trainings and other team building activities.
• Maintain and oversee overall safety of shelter spaces.
• Ensure compliance with DHS licensing.
• Work closely with the greater leadership team to support team cohesion and continuous improvement of services for youth.
• Support team in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
