This position is part of the Shelter Department, which serves single adults through emergency response programs including Shelter, Street Outreach, and the Welcome Center. The goal is to build rapport and connect individuals to resources that help them stabilize their housing and achieve self-sufficiency. The Shelter Advocate will work within Agate's two housing-focused shelter program sites in Minneapolis, ensuring consistent, affirming, and safe operations for guests and volunteers. Responsibilities include managing daily operations, answering phones, conducting intakes, monitoring guest behavior, light housekeeping, meal preparation and service, administrative tasks, documentation, and data entry. The role also involves providing core services to guests, offering information, making referrals, and assisting with navigation of services and paperwork. Additionally, Shelter Advocates attend staff meetings, update rosters using HMIS, and represent Agate's shelters at community meetings and trainings.
