Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a sheet metal mechanic or in a similar metal fabrication role.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools used in sheet metal work.
• Knowledge of safety standards and practices related to metal fabrication.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an apprenticeship or formal training program in sheet metal work or metal fabrication.
• Experience with welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding.
• Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Certification in welding or metal fabrication.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and fabrication requirements.
• Cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as shears, brakes, and rollers.
• Perform welding, soldering, and fastening to join metal components securely and accurately.
• Inspect finished products for defects and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Maintain and repair sheet metal equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve fabrication challenges and improve processes.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and regulations.
