The SGA Legislative Issues Director reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for chairing the Legislative Affairs Committee. This role involves serving as the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point delegation leader for student association conventions and conferences, actively promoting student involvement in legislation, and advocating on behalf of students at local, state, and federal levels. The Director will also form working relationships with local and state representatives, manage SGA Lawyer services, and organize elections. Additionally, the position requires daily monitoring of legislative news, collaboration with other directors on campus events, and attendance at SGA Senate and Executive Staff meetings. A minimum of 10 hours per week is expected in the SGA Office or related work meetings, with specific requirements for transitional material documentation at the end of each semester.
