We are looking to add another skilled Settlement Distribution Specialist to our growing Finance team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with the skills and knowledge to help handle the many distributions of the firm. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented junior finance professional to contribute to the growth and success of our firm.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required)
- Prior experience in a legal or settlement coordination role, particularly within a law firm
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Familiarity with settlement processes, client disbursements, and legal compliance
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex processes to clients
- Proficiency in using legal and accounting software to manage disbursements and records
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the distribution of settlement funds to clients and other involved parties
- Review settlement agreements and confirm accurate disbursement amounts based on client agreements
- Maintain detailed records of all disbursements and ensure they are properly documented in the firm’s system
- Communicate with clients to ensure they understand the disbursement process and provide updates as needed
- Collaborate with the settlement team and attorneys to obtain required signatures, releases, and other necessary documentation
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, financial, and ethical standards during the disbursement process
- Assist with creating and managing disbursement journals and other related records
- Troubleshoot any issues related to the distribution of settlement funds.
