About The Position

Flexible Metal, Inc., a Hyspan Company, is seeking a dependable Set Up Operator for its Tucker, Georgia manufacturing facility. The role sets up, operates, and assists in repairing production machinery with minimal supervision. The operator ensures machines run to specification, supports Machine Operators through guidance and training, and works with Maintenance to help keep production safe and efficient. The position begins with first-shift training (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) and then transitions to second shift (3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.), Monday through Friday. The stated pay rate is $21–$24. The work includes tooling changeovers on tube-bending machines, machine monitoring and adjustment, product inspection, troubleshooting, documentation, and maintaining a clean work area. The role also cross-trains on other production equipment and performs Machine Operator duties as needed. The position requires extended standing and walking, frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds, repetitive bending and reaching, and safe operation of forklifts and pallet jacks. Flexible Metal manufactures precision metal bellows and expansion joints for industrial applications. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English sufficiently to complete job documentation and follow safety procedures.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, frequently lift materials up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive bending and reaching.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.

Nice To Haves

Three to five years of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Knowledge of tube-bending operations is a plus.
Strong machine set-up, inspection using gauges and templates, and troubleshooting skills are preferred.
Enjoys hands-on, active work and demonstrates accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Perform duties safely and efficiently in accordance with company safety policies.
Set up machines to specification and ensure correct production standards.
Work with production supervisors and team leads to perform tooling changeovers on tube-bending machines.
Start and stop machines as needed, following proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Position and secure workpieces on machines and start feeding mechanisms.
Monitor automatic machines for product conformity, jams, or malfunctions, and make adjustments as needed.
Remove finished products from machinery and monitor operations for quality.
Use hand tools as needed, including hammers, mallets, and specific air tools.
Inspect workpieces using gauges and templates to verify machine accuracy and product quality.
Visually inspect products for surface and dimensional defects and help identify root causes of errors and defects.
Coordinate with Maintenance on machine repair and preventive maintenance.
Communicate machinery or tooling problems to the supervisor, collaborate on resolutions, and suggest improvements.
Assist the supervisor in guiding, directing, and training Machine Operators.
Perform Machine Operator duties as needed and cross-train on other production equipment.
Meet production standards, quotas, pace, and schedule while maintaining quality.
Complete required job and operation documentation accurately.
Maintain a clean work area in accordance with company procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
