About The Position

The Department of History invites applications for Sessional Lecturers to teach specific history courses during the 2026-2027 Regular Session. The courses include Canadian Womens and Gender History, History of Madness, and The Canadian Prairies. These courses will be offered as lectures with specific schedules and enrollment limits. A graduate degree in history and teaching experience are required for all positions. A valid driver's license is necessary for any off-campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days for preparation and marking. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

Responsibilities

  • Teach HIST 259.3 (01) Canadian Womens and Gender History from Pre Contact Period to 1918 during Term One (September 2 to December 7).
  • Teach HIST 484.3 (01) History of Madness From Enlightenment to Prozac during Term One (September 2 to December 7).
  • Teach HIST 257.3 (02) The Canadian Prairies to 1905 during Term Two (January 6 to April 8).
  • Teach HIST 260.3 (02) Canadian Womens and Gender History from 1919 to the Present during Term Two (January 6 to April 8).
  • Prepare and mark course materials.
