About The Position

The Department of Finance and Management Science in the Edwards School of Business invites applications for Sessional Lecturers to teach specific courses during the 2026-2027 Regular Session (Term 1 and Term 2). The courses include COMM 203.3 (Introduction to Finance), COMM 129.3 (Personal Financial Management), and COMM 393.3 (Spreadsheet Modeling for Business Decisions). The department aims to recruit individuals with strong academic preparation, current and substantial professional experience, and ongoing professional engagement relevant to the fields they will teach, aligning with the goal of achieving business school accreditation and maintaining Instructional Practitioner status.

Requirements

  • Initial academic preparation, including a graduate degree.
  • Current and substantial professional experience in terms of duration and level of responsibility, clearly linked to the field of teaching.
  • Ongoing professional engagement that is substantive and sustained, supporting currency and relevance.
  • A valid driver's license (required for any off-campus courses).
  • Completion of the CUPE 3287 Employment Application Form.
  • Submission of curriculum vitae (if applicable).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in teaching Introduction to Finance (COMM 203.3).

Responsibilities

  • Teach COMM 203.3 (Introduction to Finance) during Term 1 (September to December) of the 2026-2027 Regular Session.
  • Teach COMM 129.3 (Personal Financial Management) during Term 2 (January - April) of the 2026-2027 Regular Session.
  • Teach COMM 393.3 (Spreadsheet Modeling for Business Decisions) during Term 2 (January - April) of the 2026-2027 Regular Session.
  • Prepare and mark course materials.
  • Potentially teach off-campus courses if a valid driver's license is held.
