This position is for a Sessional Lecturer to teach CSC236H1F - Introduction to the Theory of Computation, LEC5101. This course is equivalent to a 0.5 FCE appointment and focuses on the application of logic and proof techniques to Computer Science, including mathematical induction, correctness proofs for algorithms, recurrence equations, and an introduction to automata and formal languages. The course assumes prior university-level experience with proof techniques and algorithmic complexity. The estimated course enrollment is 40 students, with one 60-hour TA position for support. The class schedule is Wednesdays from 17:00 to 19:00. The delivery method is currently in-person, but may change as determined by the Faculty or Department. The sessional dates of appointment are from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.
