About The Position
Applications of molecular technology continue to revolutionize our understanding of all areas of life sciences from biotechnology to human disease. This intensive laboratory, lecture / tutorial course provides students with essential information and practical experience in recombinant DNA technology, molecular biology and bio-informatics.
Requirements
- Successful candidates should have or be near completion of their Ph.D.
- Knowledgeable in advanced molecular biology laboratory courses at the 4th year level
- Familiar with the most recent literature in the field
- Must be BioSafety Certified (proof required) or be willing to undergo BioSafety training prior to taking up the position.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching experience preferred
- Previous teaching experience in BIOD21H3 at UTSC is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Design and delivery of course materials including lectures and lab manuals
- Guided student discussions and presentations
- Ensuring the smooth running of labs
- Assignments and other assessments (such as exams)
- Marking/grading
- Office hours
- Miscellaneous clerical tasks
