About The Position
Architectural Design Studio 2 is a continuation of the required design studio courses in the Master of Architecture sequence, and continues the introduction of architectural design through a studio teaching setting. Architectural Design Studio 2 invites students to evaluate architecture’s impact on context and how it takes shape through ordering context, site, and program. The estimated course enrollment is 14 students, with no TA support. The class schedule is Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The sessional dates of appointment are from January 1, 2027, to April 30, 2027.
Requirements
- M.Arch degree or other Graduate degree in Architecture preferred
- Proven record of teaching foundation design studios at the M. Arch and/or B.A/B.Arch level
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of contemporary architectural pedagogy and the current state of the discipline, at both practical and theoretical levels, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and delivery of course material
- Managing digital teaching materials
- Supervision of teaching assistants
- Preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations
- Marking of student work
- Submission of grades
- Dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions
- Student contact hours
