About The Position

This position is for a Sessional Lecturer to teach HUN100Y1 Y – Elementary Hungarian at the Faculty of Arts & Science, Department: Ctr for European & Eurasian Stds, St. George (Downtown Toronto) Campus. The course description includes a review of descriptive grammar, studies in syntax, vocabulary building, intensive oral practice, composition, reading, and translation. The estimated course enrollment is 25 students. The class schedule is Tuesdays 9-10am and Fridays 1-3pm. The delivery method for this course is currently in-person, but may change as determined by the Faculty or the Department. The dates of the appointment are from September 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027.

Requirements

  • MA degree
  • At least two years teaching experience in Canadian University

Nice To Haves

  • Native command of Hungarian language
  • Knowledge of pedagogical methods of second language teaching
  • At least five years of experience in teaching Hungarian language in a Canadian University
