About The Position

This course provides an examination of some of the issues that have characterized postsecondary education in the past and are likely to continue to be faced in the future. The objectives of the course are to: (1) provide a broad, introductory overview of postsecondary education as a field of scholarly inquiry and research; (2) examine the major issues of a recurring nature which have confronted postsecondary education, albeit in different forms and contexts, over time and in different jurisdictions; and (3) introduce students to some of the most important writings in the field. The estimated course enrollment is 25 students, with no estimated TA support.

Requirements

  • Hold a doctorate in Higher Education
  • Demonstrated record of scholarship in the field of Higher Education and the subject area of the course
  • Practical experience related to the topic of the course
  • Successful graduate teaching experience in the subject area of the course
  • Successful track record of teaching online, preferably using Canvas/Quercus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, organize, and lead this graduate half course
  • Be available to students seeking assistance between classes
  • Evaluate student work and provide students with feedback
