About The Position

This course introduces the histories, contexts, and theories of music in relation to health and wellness. Students will develop understandings of how music is used for therapeutic and non-therapeutic purposes.

Requirements

  • A graduate degree (ABD accepted) in music and health, community music, music therapy, or a related field required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as a community music practitioner or arts educator is highly desirable, as is experience with music making and music facilitation related to social wellness.

Responsibilities

  • All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments and final portfolios; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.
