About The Position

This posting is for a Sessional Lecturer position for the course GGR278H5F: Introduction to GIScience (Sci). The course focuses on the models of representation and management of geographical data for scientific analysis. It covers basic quantitative methods and techniques for geographic data analysis, including collection, manipulation, description, and interpretation. Practical exercises will utilize GIS and statistical software packages with examples from both physical and human geography. The course consists of 24 lecture hours and 12 practical hours. The estimated enrollment is 144 students, with TA support subject to final enrollment figures. The sessional dates of appointment are from September 1, 2026, to December 30, 2026.

Requirements

  • PhD or PhD candidate in Geomatics or a related field
  • Proficient with ArcGISPro and other GIS software
