About The Position

This course, Renewal of Waterpower Facilities - APS1411H, focuses on how the design of waterpower dams, structures, and equipment has been influenced by technological advancements over time. Students will gain the ability to assess the upgrade potential of existing plants, utilize tools and data to understand site conditions, and comprehend the scope of modernization for structures and equipment within the framework of environmental, social, technical, and economic decision-making. The estimated enrollment is approximately 30 students, with an estimated TA support to be determined. The class will consist of one two-hour lecture per week, with the timetable to be determined. The appointment is for the Winter Session, January to April 2027. The course will be taught online.

Requirements

  • A postgraduate degree in engineering is required.
  • Experience with and understanding of waterpower facilities.
  • Experience teaching APS1411 or similar course in past.

  • Setting and marking of projects, tests and exams
