About The Position

Lectures and laboratories examine the natural history, morphology, classification, evolutionary relationships, reproduction, biogeography, and conservation of mammals. Labs focus on the identification of mammals and their diverse morphological adaptations including mammals of Ontario.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the subject area and ability in teaching the course subject at a university level.
  • A strong background in vertebrate diversity or systematics, ecology and/or evolutionary biology
  • PhD in biology
  • Demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching at the university level

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience teaching this or a similar university-level course.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver all lectures and laboratory activities
  • Supervise teaching assistant(s) assigned to course
  • Available for office hours
  • Prepare, supervise, and grade of assignments, tests and examinations, as appropriate, in accordance with University regulations as described in the Faculty of Arts & Science Academic Handbook.
