About The Position

The Department of Sociology in the College of Arts and Science and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning invite applications for a Sessional Lecturer to teach off-campus courses during the 2026-2027 Regular Session. This role involves teaching foundational sociology courses at various locations across Saskatchewan, including North Battleford, Swift Current, and Yorkton. The courses are offered in different terms and delivery modes, including in-person lectures and hybrid formats. A valid driver's license is required for off-campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days for preparation and marking. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in Sociology or related discipline.
  • Possession of relevant teaching or professional experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for any off-campus courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach SOC 111.3 (C51) Foundations in Sociology: Society Structure Process during Term 1 (September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026) at North West College in North Battleford, SK.
  • Teach SOC 112.3 (C21) Foundations in Sociology: Social Construction of Everyday Life during Term 1 (September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026) at Great Plains College in Swift Current, SK.
  • Teach SOC 112.3 (C50) Foundations in Sociology: Social Construction of Everyday Life during Term 2 (January 1, 2027 to April 30, 2027) at North West College in North Battleford, SK.
  • Teach SOC 112.3 (C60, C64) Foundations in Sociology: Social Construction of Everyday Life during Term 2 (January 1, 2027 to April 30, 2027) as a hybrid lecture in Yorkton, SK.
  • Prepare and mark course materials.
