This position is for a Sessional Lecturer to teach CAR225: Caribbean Societies. The course offers an interdisciplinary introduction to Caribbean sociology, focusing on the writings of thinkers and scholars from the era of decolonization to the contemporary period. Themes may include colonial encounters, the role of religion, popular consciousness, histories of capitalism and exploitation, the relationship between political institutions and society, and concepts of development and dependency. The estimated course enrollment is 30 students, with no estimated TA support. The course is scheduled for Wednesdays from 1pm to 3pm and is currently planned for in-person delivery, though this may change. The sessional dates are from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.
