About The Position

Experiences of queer youth are explored in various education settings through academic research, personal essays, and visual and performing arts to investigate how queer youth define themselves, what they are learning, the curriculum and pedagogy used in the learning process and the possibilities of said learning for social change, individual and community well-being.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in education, LGBTQ+ studies, sexuality studies, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctorate degree in education, child and youth studies, LGBTQ+ studies, sexuality studies, or related field.
  • Experience teaching in a university environment.
  • Relevant background in LGBTQ+ studies and familiarity with LGBTQ+ issues.

Responsibilities

  • All duties associated with teaching an undergraduate course, including preparing the course outline, syllabus, and lectures
  • Delivering lectures
  • Developing, marking and administering course assignments, tests & exams
  • Calculation and timely submission of grades
  • Conducting scheduled office hours for academic counselling of students
