About The Position

The College of Pharmacy and Nutrition is seeking a sessional lecturer to teach PHAR 224.3 (01) Science of Pharmacotherapy 1: Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology during the 2026-2027 Fall Term. This in-person lecture course will run from September 1 to December 30, with classes held on Mondays and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 9:50 AM. The expected enrollment limit is 85 students. The course builds upon previous concepts, focusing on pharmaceutical dosage forms, devices, and designs. Students will apply compounding principles to various formulations, select appropriate dosage forms for clinical situations, and understand biopharmaceutical principles and pharmaceutical biotechnology concepts.

Requirements

Undergraduate degree in Pharmacy (required)
Advanced training in Pharmaceutical Sciences (e.g., Ph.D., Master’s) (required)
Previous teaching experience in related subject(s) at postsecondary institutions (required)
Current eligibility to work on the University of Saskatchewan campus

Responsibilities

Teach the course PHAR 224.3 (01) Science of Pharmacotherapy 1: Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology during the Fall 2026-2027 Term.
Deliver in-person lectures on Mondays and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 9:50 AM.
Describe pharmaceutical dosage forms, devices, and designs.
Apply extemporaneous compounding principles to devise and differentiate emulsions, semisolids, suppositories, injectables, topicals, patches, and various inhalation devices.
Select and explain appropriate dosage forms for specific clinical situations.
Explain concepts and biopharmaceutical principles and differentiate between biopharmaceutical products.
Summarize concepts in pharmaceutical biotechnology.
