About The Position

This posting is for a Sessional Lecturer position for the course MATA29H3 Calculus I for the Life Sciences. The course covers differential calculus for life sciences, including algebraic and transcendental functions, semi-log and log-log plots, limits, continuity, theorems, derivatives, differentials, approximation, local linearity, applications of derivatives, and antiderivatives. The lecture section is LEC03, scheduled for Tuesdays from 7-8pm and Thursdays from 6-8pm. The estimated course enrollment is 250 students, and there is one position available. The appointment is for the sessional dates of September 8 to December 31, 2026. This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.

Requirements

  • Previous teaching experience as the instructor of a Mathematics course at the university level (required)
  • Previous teaching experience as the instructor for MATA29H3 or equivalent (strongly desirable)

Responsibilities

  • All normal duties related to the design and teaching of an IN PERSON university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content
  • Development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams
  • Calculation and submission of grades
  • Submission of a deferred exam
  • Holding regular office hours
  • Supervising TAs assigned to course
