About The Position

The Department of Linguistics, College of Arts and Science invites applications for a Sessional Lecturer to teach the following courses during the 2026-2027 Regular Session – Term One and Term Two. The courses offered are LING 110.3 (01) Introduction to Grammar and LING 340.3 (02) Principles of Phonology. Both courses will be delivered as face-to-face lectures in Saskatoon. Appointment periods include additional days for preparation and marking time. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics, or a closely related area.
  • Experience teaching Linguistics in a university setting.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for any off-campus courses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach LING 110.3 (01) Introduction to Grammar during Term One (September 2, 2026 – December 7, 2026).
  • Teach LING 340.3 (02) Principles of Phonology during Term Two (January 6, 2027 – April 8, 2027).
  • Prepare and mark course materials.
  • Potentially teach off-campus courses, requiring a valid driver's license.
