About The Position

This is an emergency posting for a Sessional Lecturer to teach SLA206H1F - Intermediate Polish I. This course is designed for students who have completed SLA106H1 and SLA116H1 or have comparable basic knowledge of Polish. The course aims to further develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills by revising, consolidating, and building upon their existing knowledge. Upon completion, students will be able to communicate in more advanced everyday situations and will have substantial familiarity with Polish grammar. The estimated course enrollment is 25 students, with no estimated TA support. The class schedule is Monday and Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The delivery method is currently planned as in-person, but may be adjusted to remote/online or a combination of methods as determined by the Faculty or Department.

Requirements

• M.A. degree in Slavic Languages and Cultures required
• Native fluency or near native in spoken and written Polish required
• Near native English required

Nice To Haves

• Ph.D. preferred
• Prior Polish language teaching experience
• Teaching at the UofT is desirable
