About The Position

This position is for a Sessional Lecturer to teach ECO102H1F Principles of Macroeconomics (Section LEC5101) at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Arts & Science, Department of Economics, St. George campus. The course is an introduction to economic analysis from a macroeconomic perspective, covering topics such as international trade, finance, money, banking, monetary and fiscal policy, with an emphasis on graphical and quantitative analysis. The estimated course enrollment is 150 students, with an estimated TA support of 230. The class schedule is Tuesdays from 17:00 to 19:00. The delivery method is currently in-person but may change. The sessional dates of appointment are from September 1 to December 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • PhD in Economics
  • Prior experience teaching this course (or a similar course) at the university level
  • Ability and experience teaching large classes

Responsibilities

  • Preparation and delivery of lectures in this course
  • Supervision of teaching assistant(s) assigned to course
  • Preparation, supervision and grading of tests and examinations in accordance with University regulations
