About The Position

The Department of Educational Administration and the Indian Teacher Education Program (ITEP) in the College of Education, and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning invite applications for an Out-of-Scope Sessional Lecturer to teach community-based courses during the Winter 2027 Session. The courses are EADM 303.3 (E20) Education in Society Structures Systems and Stakeholders and EADM 411.3 (E20) Inquiry Project and Community Learning Field Experience. Both courses will be offered as lectures, live and in-person on White Bear First Nations, with a schedule of daily Monday to Thursday. The expected enrollment limit for each course is 35. A valid driver's license is required for off-campus courses. Appointment periods include additional days for preparation and marking. Courses may be cancelled due to low enrollment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in Education or a related discipline and/or possession of relevant teaching or professional experience.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to engaging with Indigenous ways of knowing and to fostering respectful, reciprocal learning environments.
  • Possess knowledge and understanding of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit culture as well as indigenization and the decolonization of pedagogy to uplift and support Indigenous students.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Teach EADM 303.3 (E20) Education in Society Structures Systems and Stakeholders during Term 2 Open Learning (March 5, 2027 to March 25, 2027).
  • Teach EADM 411.3 (E20) Inquiry Project and Community Learning Field Experience during Term 2 Open Learning (February 1, 2027 to February 26, 2027).
  • Deliver lectures live and in-person on White Bear First Nations.
  • Adhere to a course schedule of daily Monday to Thursday.
  • Foster respectful, reciprocal learning environments.
  • Engage with Indigenous ways of knowing.
  • Uplift and support Indigenous students.
