About The Position

The Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications program at the University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF) invites applications for sessional instructor positions for the Fall academic term. UNF is an innovative, digitally oriented institution opening in 2024, preparing graduates for leadership in the digital world with programs designed for direct pathways to high-demand careers. This hybrid role requires instructors to teach on-site for a minimum of 2 days per week, depending on their teaching schedule. The academic term runs from September 28 to December 13, 2026. The per course rate is $7,200, paid in installments.

Requirements

• A Doctorate/Ph.D. in Digital Media, Communications or a related field.
• Teaching experience in the topics of: Multimedia Technology and Design, Intercultural Communications, Research Methods in Digital Media and Communications, Design Thinking & Digital Media, Interactive communications, Data Analytics in Digital Media, Digital Storytelling & Brands, Digital Visualization, Tools of Digital Media, Metaverse, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Neuromarketing, Quill for VR.
• Related industry experience and expertise in Digital Marketing, Communications, Brand Marketing etc. to enhance student learning through real life scenarios and case studies.
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Demonstrates effective prioritization and decision-making in high-pressure environments.
• Capable of handling diverse situations, multiple projects, and rapidly changing priorities.
• Possesses strong presentation and interpersonal skills, influencing others with empathy and political acumen.
• Maintains a professional manner with tact, diplomacy, and discretion when dealing with colleagues and the public.
• Possesses creative problem-solving abilities and exercises sound professional judgment, especially in handling confidential/sensitive matters.
• Displays a strong student-centric and inclusive orientation.
• Maintains flexibility and willingness to work outside regular business hours to meet organizational needs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous teaching experience at the graduate level is a significant asset.
• Curriculum development experience for on-site, online and hybrid delivery.
• Ability to mentor and advise students in their academic and professional endeavors.

Responsibilities

• Attend weekly lecture and review lecture material.
• Lecture and teach students in a variety of delivery modes, creating an inclusive learning environment.
• Invigilate quizzes, tests & exams, and complete grading of quizzes, tests, assignments & exams.
• Meet with or respond to students’ inquiries during office hours.
• Update material and grades on internal software.
