About The Position
This position is for a Sessional Instructional Assistant for the LINC13H3 - Language Diversity and Universals course in Fall 2026. Requirements
- Ph.D. in Linguistics with a focus on morphology or syntax
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the subject matter
- Strong research program in linguistic diversity and cross-linguistic analysis
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a Sessional Instructional Assistant for LINC13H3
- Previous research experience with nominals, grammatical features of nouns (person, number, gender, case, etc.), noun phrases (morphosyntax and semantics of the noun phrase), DPs, and argument structure
- Research experience involving a range of typologically diverse languages, including Indigenous languages and languages from major language families such as Indo-European
Responsibilities
- Grading of assignments, quizzes, midterms, and final examinations
- Entering grades into Quercus
- Assisting with the creation of assignments and answer keys
