About The Position

This position is for a Sessional Instructional Assistant for the course HIS241H5F - The Transformation of Europe and the World, 1789-1890. The course explores the impact of the French Revolution and the Industrial Revolution on Europe and the world, focusing on the shift from tradition to modernity. The estimated course enrollment is 50 students, with an estimated TA support of 100 hours. The class schedule is Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and the TA hours of work are Wednesdays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The sessional dates of appointment are from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

Requirements

  • Completed PhD or equivalent (for non-U. of T. graduate students)
  • Major field in the relevant topic area
  • Demonstrated effectiveness as a teaching assistant
