About The Position

The ServiceNow Platform Engineer is responsible for the architecture, scalability, reliability, and long-term health of the ServiceNow platform. Serving as a technical subject matter expert for the ServiceNow ecosystem, this role helps define how the platform is designed, governed, integrated, and evolved at scale. The Platform Engineer partners closely with business leaders to deliver standardized, secure, and highly automated enterprise workflows while producing measurable operational, financial, and risk-reduction outcomes. This position is critical to platform maturity, data integrity, audit readiness, and long-term sustainability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Engineering OR Associates Degree plus 5 years of equivalent practical experience
  • 9 years of hands-on ServiceNow platform experience accross multiple enterprise workflows
  • 8 years of experience in ServiceNow architecture, scripting, integrations, automation, and data modeling
  • 7 years of experience supporting ServiceNow release managment, SDLC practices, and environment promotion strategies accross development, test, and production
  • 5 years of experience maintaining and optimizing CMDB, CSDM, ITOM Discovery, and service mapping
  • 5 years of experience supporting enterprise ITAM capabilities, including compliance, integrations, and asset lifecycle automation on the ServiceNow platform
  • 5 years of experience supporting enterprise application rationalization and system consolidation onto the ServiceNow platform
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) - upon hire
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) - upon hire
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL 4) - within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

  • Design and evolve the end-to-end technical architecture of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and alignment with enterprise architecture and governance standards.
  • Serve as the senior technical authority and escalation point for complex, cross module platform design decisions, architectural challenges, and critical ServiceNow issues.
  • Define, enforce, and continuously improve platform engineering standards across scripting, data models, integrations, automation, UI patterns, and release management.
  • Lead CMDB strategy, health, and governance, including normalization, lifecycle management, and ongoing data quality improvement.
  • Design and implement scalable automation and integrations using Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, Scripted APIs, and custom applications to reduce manual effort and improve cycle time.
  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, architectural guidance, and enforcement of ServiceNow and industry best practices to ensure solution quality and platform integrity.
  • Partner with enterprise stakeholders and customers as a trusted technical advisor, translating business requirements into scalable technical designs, workflows, use cases, and solution recommendations.
  • Contribute to platform strategy, architecture, and continuous improvement initiatives, including roadmap planning, optimization efforts, and adoption of industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with network, cloud, security, application, PMO, and support teams as a ServiceNow subject matter expert throughout project planning, execution, testing, and lifecycle management.
  • Support skills development and operational maturity across IT teams by providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and technical support; participate in after hours support as required.
