About The Position

Peraton is seeking a ServiceNow Engineer for a 100% remote role. The engineer will be responsible for designing and developing custom ServiceNow applications, building solutions beyond out-of-the-box functionality, and customizing the Service Portal. This role involves developing workflows, automation, and integrations, scripting, and creating custom UI components. The engineer will ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with ServiceNow best practices, while also gathering and analyzing requirements, collaborating within an Agile/DevSecOps environment, and working independently. Maintaining knowledge of ServiceNow data structures, configuring MID Servers, implementing RBAC, and adhering to security and compliance requirements are also key responsibilities. The role may involve setting up new instances or configuring applications for migration. Experience with domain-separated environments and tracing data points is required.

Requirements

5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years with HS diploma
Experience developing workflows, automation, and integrations with external systems (REST/SOAP APIs, third-party platforms).
Experience writing, testing, and debugging ServiceNow scripts (Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer, Fix Scripts).
Developing custom UI components (UI Pages, UI Actions, Service Portal elements).
Experience customizing a Service Portal is a must.
Experience tracing data points to respective tables in domain separated environment.

Responsibilities

Design and develop custom ServiceNow applications using App Engine Studio and/or traditional scoped application development.
Build solutions beyond out-of-the-box functionality, including custom modules, data models, platform extensions, and service portal widgets.
Customize a Service Portal.
Clone, extend, and customize existing ServiceNow modules to meet customer-specific requirements.
Develop workflows, automation, and integrations with external systems (REST/SOAP APIs, third-party platforms).
Write, test, and debug ServiceNow scripts (Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer, Fix Scripts).
Develop custom UI components (UI Pages, UI Actions, Service Portal elements).
Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with ServiceNow best practices.
Gather and analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions, including researching and adapting platform capabilities as needed.
Collaborate with developers and team members within an Agile/DevSecOps environment (stories, estimation, lightweight ceremonies).
Work independently on development tasks and progress assigned work items through completion.
Maintain and apply knowledge of ServiceNow data structures (tables, dictionary, relationships, CMDB).
Configure and utilize MID Server for integrations and data movement.
Implement role-based access controls (RBAC) and platform security configurations.
Adhere to security and compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP/DoD/STIG).
Able to stand up new instance/ or learn to stand up and configure for new application or migration of current applications in SNOW.
Experience tracing data points to respective tables in domain separated environment.
