The Junior ServiceNow Engineer is responsible for assisting the ServiceNow team in the design and development of both out-of-the-box and custom ServiceNow solutions. This role involves developing applications through configuration, report development, and data migration, as well as performing custom development and third-party integrations. The engineer will also be responsible for unit testing, defect resolution, and migrating changes to production. Additionally, the role supports technical design and documentation, collaborates with stakeholders to build solutions that meet business requirements, and interacts with clients, managers, and end-users to analyze project objectives and capability requirements. The engineer will partner with clients and leadership to define challenges, desired outcomes, risks, dependencies, and strategy. Support will be provided to the Product Owner for backlog and roadmap refinement, as well as planning and prioritization. The role also assists the Support Team with escalated issues, particularly those related to customized applications, user permissions, security settings, custom objects, and workflows. Finally, the engineer will provide work effort estimates, design, code, and test solutions, analyze and mitigate issues, and follow an iterative software development methodology throughout the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 1+ years ServiceNow implementation experience
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, IT Asset Management (ITAM), Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), CMDB/Configuration Management, and Virtual Agent
  • US Citizen
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • Must be local to DC

Responsibilities

  • Develops the application including configuration, report development, and data migration, where applicable.
  • Analyze, design, code and test multiple components of application code across one or more modules.
  • Performs custom development (as required) and 3rd party integrations.
  • Carries out unit-testing and defect resolution.
  • Carries out migration of the changes to production.
  • Assists with technical design and documentation.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders and team members to build solutions in ServiceNow that support business requirements.
  • Interact directly with clients, managers and end users as necessary to analyze project objectives and capability requirements, including specifications for user interfaces, customized applications and interactions with internal ServiceNow instances.
  • Partner with clients and leadership to define and document the challenges and desired outcomes, the risks and dependencies, and the vision and strategy.
  • Support Product Owner with product backlog and product roadmap refinement activities, as well as planning and prioritization activities.
  • Assist the Support Team with escalated issues arising from support of internal and customer facing ServiceNow environment, especially related to customized applications, user permissions, security settings, custom objects and workflows.
  • Provide estimates of work effort for new projects and enhancements.
  • Design, code, and test solutions.
  • Analyze and mitigate issues identified during testing.
  • Follow an iterative software development methodology and contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle and support.
