About The Position

The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-quality solutions on the ServiceNow platform. This role focuses on custom development, scripting, integrations, and advanced configuration to support IT Service Management (ITSM), Human Resource Service Delivery (HRSD), Customer Service Management (CSM) and other ServiceNow modules while aligning with FCA's mission, governance standards, and long-term platform roadmap. The ServiceNow Developer works closely with the Director of IT Service Management, ServiceNow Administrators, process owners, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and to continuously improve platform capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
  • Strong experience scripting in JavaScript within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM), Human Resource Service Delivery (HRSD), Customer Service Management (CSM) and Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) processes and modules.
  • Experience building and supporting ServiceNow integrations.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer.
  • ITIL Foundation or higher.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and prioritize competing demands.
  • Support-oriented mindset with patience to work alongside non-technical users.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow applications, modules, and custom solutions using best practices.
  • Develop and maintain client scripts, business rules, UI policies, UI actions, script includes, flow designer actions, and integrations.
  • Implement advanced configurations and low-code/no-code solutions where appropriate to support business needs.
  • Build and maintain service catalog items, workflows, and automation to streamline service delivery.
  • Design, develop, and support integrations using REST, SOAP, MID Servers, and integration hubs.
  • Collaborate with other Technology teams and departments to automate workflows and data flows between ServiceNow and enterprise systems.
  • Follow established development standards, naming conventions, and governance guidelines.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure solutions are maintainable, scalable, and secure.
  • Support ServiceNow upgrades by assessing impact, remediating customizations, and performing testing.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Partner with ServiceNow Administrators on day-to-day platform support and enhancements.
  • Work closely with product owners and stakeholders to gather requirements, propose solutions, and deliver features aligned to organizational priorities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, and operational runbooks.
  • Provide mentoring and technical guidance to other ServiceNow team members as needed.
  • Stay current with ServiceNow platform updates, best practices, and emerging capabilities.
  • Participate in roadmap planning for new modules, enhancements, and automation initiatives.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, usability, and reliability across the platform.
