The Service Welder I is responsible for conducting all assigned work in a safe manner, adhering to all applicable safety, environmental, and contamination control policies, procedures, and regulations. This role requires attending and completing required technician training, maintaining a minimum set of tools, and interpreting structural drawings for assembly and repair functions. The welder will prepare parts for welding, perform necessary repairs, and work in an organized manner, seeking improvements in methods, work area, and safety standards. Documentation of repairs and repair times using appropriate software is also a key responsibility. The position requires the ability to set up and perform jobs from start to finish with minimal supervision, monitor job expenses against estimates, and communicate any potential cost overruns to the supervisor. A positive approach to work, contributing to team efforts, and training/mentoring others are expected. The role also includes performing other assigned duties.
