About The Position

Georgia Poultry Equipment Company, a division of Hog Slat, Inc., is seeking a Service Technician to join its team at the Calhoun, Georgia location. The company provides parts, equipment, and turn-key construction to the swine and poultry industries. The role requires excellent customer service skills and experience with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

The Service Technician works with poultry customers to understand repair needs, recommends suitable parts and equipment, and repairs or replaces faulty equipment at poultry facilities. The position also involves billing customers for service hours, coordinating warranty claims with the in-store team, and participating in training offered by Georgia Poultry Equipment Company and its vendors.

Requirements

• Ability to use tools associated with the repair of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Approved safe driving record.
• At least 2 years of prior experience repairing and replacing electrical and mechanical equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with the poultry production industry and poultry producers in the area.
• Knowledge of parts and equipment used in modern poultry production facilities.
• Prior experience working with systems found in modern poultry facilities, such as ventilation, feeding and watering, and heating.

Responsibilities

• Work with Georgia Poultry customers to understand their repair needs.
• Recommend available parts and equipment that can address customers’ needs.
• Repair or replace faulty parts and equipment in area poultry facilities.
• Properly bill customers for service work hours.
• Work with the Georgia Poultry in-store team to manage warranty claims.
• Take advantage of training opportunities offered by Georgia Poultry Equipment Company and its vendors.
