About The Position

The Poultry Vaccination Technician supports farm operations as part of the vaccination crew, with primary responsibility for the care and welfare of the birds. The role involves vaccinations, bird moves, male selection, grading, and cleaning and disinfecting equipment to maintain biosecurity. All duties must be performed with safety, biosecurity, and animal welfare as top priorities.

The technician works with day-old chicks and live birds in poultry houses, collecting birds for moving, weighing, and vaccination. The position also involves collecting blood samples and banding, tagging, or removing tags from birds. The technician must follow animal care standards, animal welfare guidelines, and biosecurity policies and procedures, and perform essential duties safely and efficiently as trained. The work may involve chemicals such as detergents and disinfectants, farm-related odors, and loud or noisy environments.
