About The Position

The Service Technician diagnoses and repairs vehicles at a dealership, working alongside other technicians and maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or 1 to 3 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Operator driver’s license.
• State inspection license.

Responsibilities

• Examine and diagnose vehicles.
• Discuss repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor.
• Communicate additional service requests to the service advisor.
• Plan work in cooperation with the shop foreman.
• Provide labor estimates to the service advisor.
• Monitor repair time and update the service advisor.
• Follow dealership policies on vehicle care and operation.
• Complete repair stories and/or documentation for clients.
• Assist in mentoring technician trainees.
• Attend company and factory training.
• Keep current with factory technical bulletins.
• Follow federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous-waste disposal requirements.
