Experienced Service Technician
About The Position
Mossy Auto Group is seeking experienced Service Technicians for its high-volume shop. The technician inspects, services, and prepares new and used vehicles according to factory and dealership standards, policies, and specifications. The role supports customer satisfaction by completing work correctly and on time, maintaining current technical knowledge, and communicating with service staff about repair needs and timing. Pay consists of base hourly and flag-rate compensation ranging from $34.00 to $39.00, plus a productivity bonus that can bring the maximum hourly rate to $50.00 based on individual performance. Employment offers are contingent on successfully completing background screening, motor-vehicle-record review, Social Security number verification, and a drug test.
Requirements
- Strong automotive background.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Clean and valid driver's license; a clean driving record and valid California driver's license are also specified.
- Experienced Service Technician background.
Nice To Haves
- ASE certifications are ideal.
- OEM certifications are encouraged.
- Technical or trade school degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain current technical knowledge of current models and used vehicles to communicate effectively with service and sales staff.
- Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards.
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional service needs so customers can be informed.
- Provide estimates of the time required for additional repairs.
- Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.
- Comply with applicable company and legal requirements governing vehicle repairs.
- Inspect, service, and prepare new and used vehicles according to factory and dealership standards, policies, and specifications.
