About The Position
Southern Tire Mart is seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to join our team. This role involves mounting, balancing, rotating, and repairing tires on a variety of vehicles, including passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles. You will also be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, conducting fleet inspections, and performing routine maintenance. The ideal candidate will be able to operate company vehicles safely, respond to roadside service calls, and utilize Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). Additionally, you will assist with inventory management and participate in ongoing training to uphold company policies and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred.
Responsibilities
- Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including: Commercial Tires, HVAC systems, Brakes, Steering & Suspension, PM Inspections, Drivetrain, Electrical Systems.
- Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
- Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.
- Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.
- Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).
- Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.
- Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
