About The Position

Southern Tire Mart is hiring a Service Technician to service tires and diagnose and repair mechanical issues on passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, industrial vehicles, semi-trucks, and trailers. The role includes tire service, fleet inspections and routine maintenance, roadside assistance when needed, and inventory support. The technician must follow safety protocols and company policies and participate in ongoing training. Possible overtime may be required.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
Ability to lift or move tires weighing 30–250 pounds, with or without mechanical aids.
Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.
Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Possible overtime may be required.

Nice To Haves

Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires on passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
Diagnose and repair semi-truck and trailer issues involving commercial tires, HVAC systems, brakes, steering and suspension, preventive maintenance inspections, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
Operate company vehicles safely and comply with traffic regulations.
Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.
Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).
Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.
Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
