About The Position

As a Geoprobe® service technician, you will be part of a team focused on providing service through efficient rig repairs and maintenance. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and service the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of technical drilling rigs. You will prepare high-quality, customer-ready equipment to help clients in the environmental, geotechnical, geothermal, and water well industries remain active. The position requires clear communication with customers, collaboration, and a service-oriented approach. Occasional travel may be needed to address technical issues in the field when equipment cannot be transported to a service center.

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and understand schematics.
• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Basic PC knowledge, including operating a keyboard and navigating between screens within an application.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to clearly describe problems and processes to customers.
• Collaborative mindset and interest in helping others.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to provide field service.

Nice To Haves

• Helpful experience with drilling equipment operation, farm work or a farm background, engines or automotive components, or heavy equipment; manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on customer vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, recommend repairs, and make critical machine and engine adjustments.
• Read and interpret schematic engineering drawings.
• Test repairs to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain detailed records of service interactions, solutions, and follow-up actions.
• Enter machine-related customer interactions into the internal system in a timely manner.
• Cross-train and learn to service a variety of machines that come into the shop.
• Complete assignments in a timely manner and meet service delivery schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
