About The Position

As a Geoprobe® service technician, you will join a dedicated team focused on providing top service through efficient rig repairs and maintenance. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and service the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of technical drilling rigs. The role requires producing high-quality, customer-ready equipment so clients in the environmental, geotechnical, geothermal, and water well industries can remain active. Successful candidates communicate clearly with customers about problems and processes, work collaboratively, and enjoy helping others.

Requirements

• Practical experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly describe problems and processes to customers.
• Collaborative mindset and enjoyment of working with a team.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to address customer technical issues in the field when equipment cannot be transported to a service center.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read and understand schematics.
• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Basic PC knowledge, including keyboard operation and basic navigation between screens within an application.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating drilling equipment.
• Farm background or farm work experience.
• Experience working on engines or automotive components.
• Heavy equipment experience, preferably in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on customer vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, recommend and repair critical machine and engine adjustments.
• Study, read, and interpret schematic engineering drawings.
• Test repairs to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain detailed records of service interactions, solutions provided, and follow-up actions.
• Enter machine-related customer interactions into the internal system in a timely manner.
• Cross-train and learn to work on a variety of machines that come into the shop.
• Complete assignments in a timely manner and meet service delivery schedules.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
