About The Position

MSS Solutions, LLC is hiring an experienced Service Technician - HVAC III to support senior HVAC technicians and perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work on commercial HVAC equipment. The position includes preventive maintenance, equipment inspections and logging, brazing, leak checks, evacuation, and work on a broad range of commercial HVAC and related systems. The technician communicates with internal teams and customers, completes project documentation, responds to supervisors and dispatchers, follows safe work practices, and maintains company tools and vehicle.

Requirements

Universal EPA certification.
Ability to understand mechanical drawings and equipment specifications.
Ability to troubleshoot complex high- and low-voltage electrical systems.
Expert ability to read wiring schematics.
Thorough understanding of large unitary packaged equipment over 25 tons, SWUD units, VRF, basic air-cooled chillers, semi-hermetic compressors, dehumidification equipment, complex specialty equipment, air handlers, simple boilers, cooling towers, water pumps, valves, actuators, and VFDs.
Proficiency troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the components of the listed equipment.
Complete understanding of equipment sequences of operation and control strategies.
Thorough understanding of airflow for variable air volume systems, including duct design and control strategy.
Understanding of DDC control components and pneumatic systems.
Demonstrated experience understanding the basic refrigerant cycle, heating components, and air distribution systems.
Ability to communicate with customers and explain complex technical issues in layman's terms.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
Able to meet the physical demands described, including frequent standing, walking, reaching, and gripping; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. and constant lifting up to 25 lbs.; and vision, hearing, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

Assist Senior HVAC technicians.
Perform preventative maintenance contracts.
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain light commercial equipment.
Perform scheduled maintenance, including replacing belts and filters, and identify anomalies in HVAC equipment.
Log HVAC equipment information, including refrigerant circuit, electrical circuit, and equipment condition.
Perform brazing, leak checks, and evacuation processes.
Communicate with Team Lead, Coordination Staff, Sales Staff, and customers.
Complete equipment log sheets for Project Managers and upload them into the database.
Complete assigned tasks with minimal call-backs.
Respond to the supervisor and dispatcher.
Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Abide by basic safe work practices.
Take care of and maintain company tools and company vehicle.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the company.
