Atmos Energy•Plano, TX

About The Position

The Service Technician 1 performs basic work according to prescribed procedures and responds to customer service requests, including service connections and disconnections as operator-qualified. The technician informs customers about needed repairs, answers basic questions, and ensures customers understand and are satisfied with completed work. Duties may include disconnecting service and pursuing collections on delinquent accounts, installing and operating Wireless Meter Reading equipment, assisting with natural gas and other emergencies, maintaining accurate records and reports, and reading meters for billing. The role includes safety responsibilities, inspection and safe operation of assigned company vehicles and equipment, and identifying and reporting safety or encroachment issues. The technician may be assigned stand-by duty, shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency callouts, occasional extended hours, and work outside the regular work area. Work involves entry to customer premises and outdoor work in varied weather and terrain, potentially including ladders, roofs, attics, areas under houses, and confined spaces. A residence requirement may apply because of callout response times. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license meeting company standards, and completion and maintenance of assigned classes, Operator Qualifications, on-the-job training, and other required training or certifications.
