About The Position

SPATCO Energy Solutions’ Service Tech Trainee is an entry-level position that provides on-the-job training to advance a technician’s career. The trainee will be trained and certified to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot customers’ fueling equipment. Training sessions may take place outside the employee’s local area; the company pays for training, lodging, and meals.

Hours may vary, but employees work at least 40 hours per week, with overtime. Most calls are completed during the day shift. After training, the employee joins an on-call rotation. The role involves daily local travel and work at locations such as retail gas stations, commercial sites, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.
• Daily local travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Complete petroleum service calls for customers at retail gas stations, commercial locations, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.
• Complete service-call paperwork after each call.
• Communicate with the service dispatcher and manager.
• Explain technical issues to customers in non-technical terms.
• Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units and point-of-sale systems.
• Install, program, and test new petroleum equipment.
• Perform scheduled repairs and preventive maintenance on fueling systems.
• Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and make repairs as required.
