Purpose The Service Supervisor is responsible for supporting daily Front-End and Customer Service operations by supervising employees, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining operational efficiency, and enforcing company procedures. This position provides leadership to Cashiers, Courtesy Clerks, Customer Service Clerks, and other front-end employees while helping achieve service, productivity, and customer satisfaction goals. The Service Supervisor serves as a key leader on duty and assists store management with front-end execution and customer engagement.

Requirements

  • Supervise and direct front-end employees during assigned shifts.
  • Provide coaching, training, and ongoing feedback to team members.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new employees.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer service excellence.
  • Monitor employee performance and address operational concerns as needed.
  • Support department leadership in achieving operational and service goals.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Assist customers with questions, concerns, transactions, and service requests.
  • Resolve customer complaints and service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Support customer recovery efforts and help build customer loyalty.
  • Ensure front-end employees consistently provide friendly and efficient service.
  • Oversee checkout operations during assigned shifts.
  • Monitor customer wait times and adjust staffing as necessary.
  • Ensure registers, self-checkout stations, and customer service areas operate efficiently.
  • Coordinate break schedules and employee assignments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready front-end environment.
  • Ensure compliance with cash-handling and financial control procedures.
  • Perform register audits, till counts, and cash verification activities as assigned.
  • Assist with balancing tills and investigating discrepancies.
  • Ensure proper execution of refunds, exchanges, voids, and overrides.
  • Protect company assets through adherence to operational controls.
  • Support execution of company programs, initiatives, and operational priorities.
  • Monitor front-end productivity and workflow.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned.
  • Communicate operational concerns and opportunities to department and store leadership.
  • Serve as Person in Charge (PIC) when designated by store management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
  • Promote a safe shopping and work environment.
  • Address hazards, safety concerns, and incidents promptly.
  • Support loss prevention and asset protection initiatives.
  • Ensure employees follow established operational and safety procedures.
  • Provide assistance across departments when operational needs require.
  • Support store leadership during high-volume periods and special events.
  • Encourage teamwork and collaboration throughout the store.
  • Assist with employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
  • Help maintain a positive and productive work environment.
